I've been knitting away while the kids have been gone, primarily on the Clementine Shawlette pattern from Interweave Knits 2007. The yarn is Blue Moon Fiber Arts Heavyweight Socks that Rock in Rose Quartz. The yarn is lovely to work with and is shaded just enough, but not so much that it obscures the lace pattern.

It's all very squishable and warm. The pattern itself is a pleasure to knit, although it borders on too easy once the increasing is done, with effectively a 2 row repeat. Easy pattern = good movie knitting and the Jackson house has been a movie-watchin' factory in the last week, so much progress has been made.
On the sewing front, I completed a tote bag that is a gift for a blog friend who has been very helpful to me as I explore the idea of learning with the kids for a year. Her computer has been sadly at the Apple Hospital, so hopefully this and its accompanying goodies will arrive before she sees this post.
As I was looking at the handles this morning (and their slightly wonky stitching from the night before. oops.), I noticed that I clearly have a color/pattern preference going right now. Check out the bag next to my skirt. Brown/blue/cream/red seems to be a theme these days.
Okay, back to knitting snake #3 and preparing a package for the mail tomorrow.
