It's been quite a year! I've been reading all over about my friends' readiness to shut the door (and hard!) on 2010. This year has been rough on many, including so many of our dear friends. For us, whatever struggles we may have had, big as they may have seemed in the moment, have been overshadowed by the birth of our littlest one. She has been such a bright light in our lives that we'll always view it as a pretty great year.
As I went through photos, I was a little sad. I missed so much with my camera - I really didn't get back in the habit of picking it up again until October. I have lots of baby photos but not much else, and January/February may as well have not happened as far as my photo taking was concerned. I'm not letting that happen again. Having a record of our days turns out to be far more important to me than I could have known.
Let's take a quick look back at the year.
January - we made a mess and I took next to no photos. Wow.
February - a quilt was made (and again, not many photos)
March - we welcomed little Katherine Frances aka Kit (KFran or Kiki or Kit Fisto to the kids)
April - we saw a lot of visitors and we took Jade to Slide Rock (sorry Jade - I know you've lost 70 lbs since this photo but I still love it).
May - our summer sojourn began in San Francisco
June - the beach. One photo can't be enough, so you get my montage
July - we survived by hanging in the pool
August - I finally dug out from months of pregnancy/new baby and got organized
September - we saw the big girl twice and celebrated her 20th birthday
October - they sold cookies
November - Thanksgiving with family and lemon season began
December - Christmas preparations. Minimal this year.
Happy new year, friends! I have high hopes for what it may bring for all of us.
