We have a tradition that many families have, which involves new pjs for Christmas. In our house, this means new mama-made pj pants. As is my tradition, the pj pants are typically made up to the point of elastic and hems. This year, I achieved elastic for everyone but Kit because she doesn't know any better whenever I was ready to measure her waist for elastic she was napping. Yesterday, I finally busted out the elastic and hems of the pants.
I used my favorite pattern by Anna Maria Horner, which is a reversible pair of pants from Handmade Beginnings with a cute insert on the back end to show off a favorite fabric. The fabrics are a teapot and teacup print from the Metro Cafe line, a green crosshatch print that Cathy sent me, polka dots by Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane line, and a green/white rattan print for the unseen booty patch. I love that by flipping up the cuffs you get to see 3 of the 4 prints.
And since I love those teapots with a pink and purple passion, I embellished a little tshirt to match with one of the pots and a cup. I also embroidered 'teatime" on the shirt.
I should also mention the blankie, which I made as a Christmas gift, but I'll give it a post of its own. You'll be seeing more of those Dream On prints - I'm in love. All the vintage sheet style without the digging through Goodwill and that thrifted sheet aroma (my apologies to those who successfully find vintage sheets - I'm just jealous).
Now I'm feeling ready to make more. Sometimes a baby girl just needs some new mama made duds. Next up - new knit leggings and a dress from Ottobre along with a matching skort for her big sister. I think I'm finally ready to tackle the knits. Watch out world.
Also - you people are some serious lemon lovers! I wish I could afford to send a box to everyone. There are 2 more days to throw your hat in the ring for that box of winter sunshine.
