Just like little miss "I don't sit in chairs" here, we're on the edge of the holiday season. Today, I made 5 dozen rolls for Thanksgiving and my children looked at me as if to say "that's it?" - granted, 2 dozen of them are for the school post-Toilet Bowl Thanksgiving potluck lunch. I may be making more on Wednesday. You tell me. Are 3 dozen rolls enough for 6 people plus a birdlike toddler?
Tomorrow will be all about pie crust and cranberry sauce, as well as picking up our turkey. The bread for stuffing is diced and in the fridge. The house is being spiffed up for the arrival of Jeff's parents. Wednesday night dinner is planned. Lists are in process. We will feast on Thursday. Then we dive straight into Christmas prep on Friday. I'm getting excited to deck the halls. How about you?

Trying to just make it through Aine's surgery and recovery. Then home for food and festivities. Have a wonderful turkey day. Squeeze everyone for me.

This post got me excited about Thanksgiving! We don't host people at our house, so not much food prep is involved. But reading about your prep lifted me from my just-another-day-with-housecleaning-to-do rut and reminded me to dream of special makings. Tomorrow night will be pies and perhaps dinner rolls; you've inspired me. And today involves a search for a yummy jello recipe. It's hard for me to think about decking the halls when first I have to clean them. But that's what this weekend will entail, I think.

Totally curious...what is a post-Toilet bowl pot luck? Sounds interesting.

I finished most of my Christmas shopping last night on Amazon. I am ready, the kids are super excited to start decorating the house and to get out the advent activities.

extended family drama nix'd all our plans to be with anyone else. maybe a little sad, maybe thankful....our little family will be together, most likely go for a hike & explore somewhere new, be mellow by the fire & not fret about food or timing or anything really. finding the silver lining.... xo have a wonderful week my friend!

Today was shopping day and I made 3 pies and a cheesecake. tomorrow morning we go to have a big family Santa photo done and then I think we will have turkey dinner in the evening since son in law has to work Thanksgiving.
That way, son and wife visiting from out of state have 2 days of delicious leftovers instead of just one before they head back to TN on Saturday.
